#Atizapán, #Edoméx.- After the damages caused by the heavy rains on the afternoon of September 15, a few hours before the celebration of the 214th Anniversary of the Cry of Independence, the Municipal President of Atizapán de Zaragoza, Pedro Rodríguez Villegas, visited different neighborhoods of the municipality to attend to the families that were affected.
The Mayor of Atizapán toured the Jardines de Atizapán subdivision, the El Potrero neighborhood and the town of Calacoaya; there, on Ailes Street, Public Safety and Municipal Transit personnel rescued a person who had been trapped in his vehicle.
Afterwards, the Mayor moved to the Municipal Palace, where about 4 thousand people were already waiting for him, in spite of the rain that lasted approximately three hours.
Still wearing work clothes and boots, Rodriguez Villegas paid homage to the flag, took the Lábaro Patrio in his hands and shouted:
Mexicans! Long live the heroes who gave us homeland and freedom! Long live Hidalgo! Long live Morelos! Long live Allende! Long live Guerrero! Long live Josefa Ortiz de Dominguez! Long live Mexico! Long live Mexico! Long live Mexico! Long live Atizapan de Zaragoza!
The power outage did not dampen the enthusiasm of the Atizapan families, who sang the Mexican National Anthem in unison and a cappella and then witnessed the fireworks that further awakened the patriotism of those present. They also enjoyed the show of the group Tierra Sagrada, the fair and the Mexican snacks. At all times the shout of ¡Viva México! was kept latent.
