Mexico and the United States successfully close IMPRO case under T-MEC Rapid Response Labor Mechanism / @SE_mx >>>

#SE.- The Government of Mexico, through the Ministries of Economy and Labor and Social Welfare (STPS), reports the successful closure of the case regarding the alleged denial of freedom of association and collective bargaining rights at Impro Industries (IMPRO), located in Villa de Reyes, San Luis Potosi, Mexico, as part of the Labor Rapid Response Mechanism in Specific Facilities (MLRR) of the Treaty between Mexico, the United States and Canada (T-MEC).

In the results of the internal investigation that Mexico shared with the United States on September 6, 2024, the following was determined:

Regarding what was expressed in the complaint, that the comprehensive revision of the 2024 Collective Labor Agreement (CCT) was negotiated without the participation of the workers covered by it, it can be affirmed that, according to the information provided by the Federal Center for Labor Conciliation and Registration (CFCRL), this procedure was carried out in accordance with the provisions of the Federal Labor Law. In addition, there is evidence that a copy of this review was delivered to all workers in the plant.
Regarding the fact that IMPRO employees were pressured by external personnel at the time of casting their vote and that the facilities were under surveillance, it is noteworthy that in the final report of the CFCRL on this vote, it is stated that “there are no employer personnel or any incident during the vote”.
Regarding the dismissal of a worker for his union activity, there are no elements to affirm that it was a reprisal for expressing his disagreements; nor that it constituted an act of anti-union discrimination; that is, that it was motivated by his affiliation or his status as a special delegate of the Liga Sindical Obrera Mexicana (LIGA). However, in the dialogue convened and conducted by the STPS, the parties reached an agreement for his reinstatement.
In addition, although IMPRO denied the allegations contained in the complaint and that during the internal investigation there was insufficient evidence to confirm the allegations, IMPRO took the following actions, in coordination with the STPS:
