#Atizapán, #Edoméx.- At 11:00 a.m. the seismic alert sounded at the Municipal Palace of Atizapán de Zaragoza, as part of the National Drill 2024 and in commemoration of the earthquakes of September 19, 1985 and 2017.
In this exercise, which was carried out throughout the country, a total of 1,200 workers and the general public evacuated the Atizapán building in a time of 4:20 minutes.
The earthquake hypothesis was of magnitude 7.5 with epicenter in Acapulco, Guerrero, perceptible in the neighboring states and 4,490 loudspeakers were activated according to Civil Protection authorities.
Atizapán de Zaragoza Civil Protection and Firefighters had a reaction time of 3 minutes to respond to the emergency and make sure the building was evacuated and also to verify the existence of possible victims or damage to the government building.
A total of 40 elements of Civil Protection went to the facilities of the Municipal Central DIF, the Salvador González Herrejón and Guadalupe Victoria hospitals, as well as the water agency SAPASA to attend to any emergency, as part of this National Drill 2024.
The Coordinator of Civil Protection, Fire and Environment, Héctor Elorriaga Mejía, emphasized that these acts of civic responsibility are a requirement of Mayor Pedro Rodríguez Villegas, who asks to preserve the safety of the population in any type of emergency.
“Both Municipal Public Safety and Civil Protection and Firefighters are attending in real time. We must act responsibly. There does not necessarily have to be an earthquake to be prepared,” said Elorriaga Mejía.
