#Atizapán, #Edoméx.- The Municipal President of Atizapán de Zaragoza, Pedro Rodríguez Villegas, state and federal authorities commemorated the LV Luctuary Anniversary of Adolfo López Mateos, President of the United Mexican States from 1958 to 1964.

In front of the Mausoleum built in honor of the distinguished atizapense, Mayor Pedro Rodriguez, accompanied by the Secretary of Urban Development and Infrastructure of the Government of the State of Mexico, Carlos Jesus Maza Lara, who attended on behalf of Governor Delfina Gomez Alvarez, said that Lopez Mateos was a man ahead of his time and projected himself as a statesman of the future.

“When we speak of a character of the political stature of Adolfo López Mateos, we are referring to a statesman capable of consolidating stabilizing development and initiating the modernization of our country, since during his six-year term the economy grew at six percent.

“This emotional event is an act in which we are paying a heartfelt tribute to one of the men who worked the hardest for the benefit of our nation, the President who made the solutions he committed to a reality; López Mateos was a man of his time and a man of the future,” said Rodríguez Villegas.

He mentioned that under his presidency, the distribution of profits was consolidated, while in the area of education, the National Commission for Free Textbooks and the Zacatenco Professional Unit of the National Polytechnic Institute were created. He also consolidated the nationalization of the electricity industry.

He added that together with his wife, Eva Sámano, he created the Institute for the Protection of Children, school breakfasts in public schools with the intention of supporting low-income students throughout the country, as well as the creation of cultural units such as the National Museum of Anthropology.
