Cecut will host the XIX International Conference History, Heritage and Border >>>
#Cultura.- The Institute of Historical Research (IIH) of the Autonomous University of Baja California (UABC) through the Academic Bodies History and Society and History and Regional Development, in collaboration with the Tijuana Cultural Center (Cecut), an institution of the federal Ministry of Culture, invite the general public and the university community to the XIX International Conference History, Heritage and Border.
From September 25 to 27, the Aula Magna Mtro. Jorge Martínez Zepeda of the IIH at UABC and the Video Room of Cecut will host round tables, editorial presentations, lectures, workshops and dialogue tables in this annual event that brings together researchers from different countries as a meeting point to present advances in their work and results.
The afternoon activities on Wednesday 25 will take place at Cecut, beginning at 4:00 p.m. with the presentation of the book Agricultural development and political agreements in northern Mexico. Los centros de contratación del Programa Bracero, 1947-1964, by Irina Córdoba Ramírez. This book focuses on the negotiation scenarios that both migratory processes and the so-called white gold, cotton, motivated in the geography surrounding the Bracero Program hiring centers located north of the Tropic of Cancer.
At 5:00 p.m. it will be the turn of the editorial presentation of Diversidades regionales en los procesos de consumación de la Independencia en México, with David Piñera Ramírez as coordinator. This work was elaborated by eleven members of the Mexican Academy of History, in which the way in which the consummation of independence took place in the respective entities of our country in which they reside is approached.
At 6:00 p.m. there will be a brief opening ceremony with the participation of Dr. Haydeé Gomez Llanos Juárez, vice rector of UABC Campus Tijuana, and Dr. Diana Méndez Medina, director of the IIH. Followed at 6:20 p.m. by the keynote lecture Political exile and human rights violations: history, challenges and a debt in Latin America, given by Dr. Soledad Lastra.
