#SRE.- Following President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo’s instruction to continue working in a coordinated manner to review and update the Humanitarian Mobility Model, Secretaries of State, heads of federal government agencies and entities met to continue the work of the Inter-Ministerial Commission for Comprehensive Care in Migration Matters (Ciaimm).

During the meeting, the authorities emphasized that attention to migration is a priority for the federal government, acknowledged the progress made in the last six years and called to continue working in a coordinated manner in the revision of this model.

“President Sheinbaum Pardo’s instruction is that we continue working in a coordinated manner, that we review this mobility model to update it, to take advantage of all the experience we have and, of course, maintain what has worked and, what might require some adjustment or adaptation, that is what the commission is for,” said Foreign Minister Juan Ramón de la Fuente.

Among the agreements reached by the participating authorities were to consolidate the Humanitarian Mobility Model and set up a group to review and update the decree that gave life to the commission.

The Ciaimm was created to act as a coordinating body for policies, programs and actions of the Federal Public Administration agencies that deal with the migratory phenomenon.

The meeting was attended by the Secretary of the Interior, Rosa Icela Rodríguez Velázquez; the Secretary of National Defense, Ricardo Trevilla Trejo; the Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection, Omar García Harfuch; the Secretary of Welfare, Ariadna Montiel Reyes; the Undersecretary of the Navy, José Barradas Cobos; the Undersecretary of Employment and Labor Productivity, Quiahuitl Chávez Domínguez.
