Delfina Gómez’s government invests more than $1 billion pesos in infrastructure and equipment for schools / @Edomex >>>

#SICT.- In order to ensure that the student community has adequate spaces for the teaching-learning process, the government of Mrs. Delfina Gómez Álvarez allocated 1,069 million pesos for works and equipment in 373 schools in various regions of the State of Mexico.

In a working tour of Tecámac and Temascalapa, Miguel Ángel Hernández Espejel, head of the Secretary of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (SECTI), informed that the goal by the end of 2024 is to improve the infrastructure of 642 schools, for which reason work is currently underway to rehabilitate and equip 269 schools, covering basic, middle and higher education levels.

Hernandez Espejel emphasized that one of the main instructions of Governor Delfina Gomez Alvarez is to support two or more schools in each of the 125 municipalities of the State of Mexico. And he emphasized that collaboration between the Government of Mexico, the state and municipal administrations is fundamental to transform the educational system in the entity.

“It is very important that we all participate in the rehabilitation and improvement of educational spaces, because this is the only way to achieve decent schools. The Governor has decided to resume this maintenance that was abandoned for many years,” said Miguel Angel Hernandez.

Hernando Peniche Montfort, General Director of the Instituto Mexiquense de la Infraestructura Física Educativa (IMIFE), explained that the works carried out in the schools include the construction of new classrooms, sanitary modules, perimeter walls, roofs, rainwater harvesting systems and general rehabilitation works, such as waterproofing, painting and improvements in basic services.

As part of this infrastructure improvement program, Secretary Hernández Espejel began the second stage of construction of the teaching building at the Universidad Tecnológica de Tecámac, which will benefit 5,144 students.
