Mexican government announces creation of Anti-Corruption and Good Governance Secretariat / @Claudiashein >>>
#GobiernoDeMéxico.- The Constitutional President of the United Mexican States, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo announced the transformation of the Public Function Secretariat (SFP) into the Anti-Corruption and Good Governance Secretariat, with the objective of complying with the election of the people of Mexico to continue eliminating corruption.
“You can be certain that there will never be collusion or an act of corruption and that, if there ever is, that is what the Anti-Corruption Secretariat is for, because we have a popular mandate which is to eradicate corruption,” she said during the morning conference: ‘Las mañaneras del pueblo’.
The current Secretary of Public Function, Raquel Buenrostro Sánchez, and incoming head of the new Anti-Corruption and Good Governance Secretariat, explained the dependence part of the results of the six-year term of former President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, such as the separation between political power and economic power; the direct delivery of Programs for Welfare; the elimination of tax forgiveness and the application of republican austerity, which led to a reduction of 11.2 percent in acts of corruption in the 2019-2023 period, and eight percentage points in the perception of this indicator.
He detailed that it is vitally important to maintain efforts to combat corruption, as crimes of this nature affect the rule of law, reduce efficiency and trust in institutions; reduce government revenues; inhibit investments; generate inequalities and limit access to public services.
