#SECTUR.- The head of the Ministry of Tourism (Sectur), Josefina Rodriguez, announced the World Paddle Tennis Championship, which will be held in Acapulco from November 25 to December 1, 2024, as part of the economic reactivation of the port, and highlighted the importance of sports tourism, with the realization of world-class events, which will detonate the arrival of tourists and economic spillover.

He emphasized the magnitude of this event, which hosts the best players in the world and has spectators in more than 189 countries, which will have an impact on the international promotion of this destination. As instructed by the President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, sports tourism will be strengthened in the current administration, as it unites all nations and all states.

Rodríguez Zamora highlighted the willingness of the organizers to continue betting on Acapulco with this type of events, which are important generators of employment and contribute with the positioning, not only of Acapulco, but of our country, internationally. “There is no better promotion than a sporting event. The agenda is already planned with great events, and we will begin the promotion at a national and international level, because Acapulco is ready, it is present, today more than ever,” he said.

At a press conference, the Secretary of Tourism of Mexico, Josefina Rodríguez Zamora; the Secretary of Tourism of Guerrero, Simón Quiñones Orozco; the president of the Mexican Federation of Padel (FEMEPA) and director of Premier Padel Mexico Jorge Mañe; and the general director Seyed Rezvani, announced the celebration of this great event of international stature.
