#EstadoDeMéxico.- The Government of the State of Mexico, headed by Teacher Delfina Gómez Álvarez, through the State of Mexico Council of Science and Technology (Comecyt), brings scientific and technological knowledge to all corners of the state, therefore, the caravan of knowledge arrived at the municipality of Temoaya, where the Official Secondary School No. 265 “José María Rayón” became the venue for the Science Fair, an event that involved its entire educational community.
Within the framework of the Month of Science and Technology 2024, students from that institution organized a marathon of scientific experiments in disciplines such as Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
One of the most anticipated moments was the participation of the “Power Engineering” team, winners of the State Robotics Contest “First Lego League Mexico”, which offered workshops to teach how to build robots with buildable pieces.
The impact of “Power Engineering” has gone beyond robotics and technology, also promoting the interest of families and the community in science, learning, teamwork and creativity. The values of commitment, responsibility, self-confidence and social awareness have been fundamental in the development of students.
Maricruz Xolio Gutiérrez, Director of Technological Development and Linkage of Comecyt, explained that the program “Transforming Children with Robotics” seeks to position the State of Mexico as a leader in science and technology at a national and international level.
This program also works as a diagnostic mechanism to identify the specific needs of each region of the state and facilitate the integration of all educational levels in a continuous process of scientific and technological training.
In addition, as part of these activities, motivational talks were given by María Teresa Antonio Javier and David Brian Méndez, beneficiaries of the Comecyt Research Programs, who addressed topics related to robotics and social sciences applied to everyday life.
