#Atizapán, #Edoméx.- The administrative discipline of the Government of Atizapán de Zaragoza, headed by Mayor Pedro Rodríguez Villegas, received the ‘AAA(mex)vra’ financing rating, with a stable outlook, from the international rating agency Fitch Ratings. This is added to the favorable note from HR Ratings, which also raised the credit rating of the Municipality.

According to Fitch, the positive scenario for Atizapán de Zaragoza reflects a solid financial situation in which the significant increase in local income stands out, between 2022 and 2023. This also confirms the improvement in its two ratings: that of its financing and that of long-term national credit quality, consolidated in the last three years.

The firm highlighted that the rating of a bank loan contracted with the National Bank of Public Works and Services, S.N.C., Development Banking Institution, acquired by previous governments, is based on adequate and stable budgetary results, good liquidity levels in the last three years and the expectation that they will remain stable in the rating scenario.

This rating from Fitch Ratings demonstrates the commitment of the Municipal President, Pedro Rodríguez, to diversify and strengthen the fiscal base of the municipality, which allows opening new opportunities in terms of financing and will give Atizapán de Zaragoza the possibility of continuing on the path of sustainable growth and development.

“We have fulfilled all these obligations in a timely manner and that stands out for the rating agencies; many situations lead municipal governments to default or seek to refinance these debts and this is not the case of Atizapán de Zaragoza.

“The debt of a loan that was initially of 450 million pesos in previous administrations has been reduced. Currently, we have a balance of 358 million pesos as of June, which is the financial information provided by the rating agency,» said Municipal Treasurer José Ortega Ríos.
