#EstadoDeMéxico.- The Government of the State of Mexico, headed by Mrs. Delfina Gómez Álvarez, is calling for the second “Let’s clean up our EdoMéx” Day, which starts with the collection of tires in 16 municipalities: Amecameca, Atizapán de Zaragoza, Chalco, Chicoloapan, Coacalco, Ecatepec, Ixtapaluca, Jocotitlán, La Paz, Nezahualcóyotl, Nicolás Romero, Tlalmanalco, Tlalnepantla, Tecámac, Tepetlaoxtoc and Texcoco.
“In the next few days we are going to carry out a tire collection campaign, because there are many tires especially on the highways that are in this area and after that we are going to do a cleaning of what is precisely canals and what are the rivers that need to be cleaned in our state,” said Governor Delfina Gómez Álvarez.
In addition, abandoned tires can be reported at the website limpiemos.edomex.gob.mx and join this Journey together with the State Governor and her Cabinet to work together for a State of Mexico without tires.
With this new ecological awareness, and led by her four Guardians of Cleanliness: Olimpia, Eco, Brillo and Simba, the people of Mexico can find out about this campaign through the social networks of Governor Delfina Gómez Álvarez: Facebook/DelfinaGomezAlvarez, X @delfinagomeza, and Instagram: delfinagomezalvarez; as well as the Government of the State of Mexico: Facebook/gobierno. edomex; X @Edomex; Instagram: gobierno.edomex; and the website: https://edomex.gob.mx/.
The first “Let’s clean up our Edomex” day, held on August 30, gathered 1,810 tons of garbage from streets, properties, ravines and rivers, the equivalent of 39 soccer fields.
The main waste found in the 125 municipalities of EdoMéx were: garbage, clothes, mattresses, armchairs, tires and PET bottles.
