#SICT.- In celebrating the Day of the Postman, Postman and Postal Employees, the Secretary of Infrastructure, Communications and Transport (SICT), Jesús Antonio Esteva Medina, said that today the Mexican Postal Service has all the technology, processes and experience to manage a network of 5,523 service points of its own and with third parties in order to have access to 122 million inhabitants.

At the Postal Palace, accompanied by the Undersecretary of Communications and Transport, Tania Carro Toledo and the Director General of the Mexican Postal Service (Sepomex)/ Correos de México, Violeta Abreu González, the head of the SICT emphasized that this represents a coverage of 97 percent of the total population of Mexico.

She indicated that the letter carriers and postwomen passionately deliver the mail, traveling more than 3,700,000 kilometers per month, delivering close to 3.5 million letters, magazines and packages daily.

Secretary Esteva Medina, accompanied by Gerardo Calzada Sibilla, Head of the SICT’s Administration and Finance Unit, said that with this effort and daily delivery, Correos de México is constantly being updated with the high purpose of promoting social inclusion, reducing inequalities, personal development and social progress.
