#Economía.- The Secretary of Economy, Marcelo Ebrard, met this afternoon with a delegation of local legislators, state authorities and Latino civil groups from California, during which the parties agreed to intensify economic cooperation between Mexico and the United States.

During the meeting, Secretary Ebrard referred to the upcoming review of the T-MEC, which, he said, will be positive for our country, due to Mexico’s relevance as the first trading partner of the United States.

“The treaty is very favorable for the United States and for Mexico, it is a great deal for both countries,” said Ebrard, after arguing that the imposition of tariffs would only affect consumers.

The federal official argued that Mexico helps U.S. companies to be more competitive with those of other trade blocs, particularly those from Asia. “If we poke each other in the eye, it won’t work, it’s a mistake,” he said.
