EFICINE announces authorized projects for the second period of 2024 / @cultura_mx >>>

#Cultura.- The Interinstitutional Committee of the Fiscal Stimulus for Investment Projects in National Film Production and Distribution (EFICINE) announces the list of authorized projects for the second period of 2024.

On this occasion, 35 production projects were authorized to receive the tax incentive. The companies responsible for the projects are from Mexico City, Estado de México, Guanajuato, Nuevo León, Sinaloa, Sonora and Quintana Roo.

Nineteen projects were authorized in the distribution category, and the companies responsible are from Baja California, Mexico City and Michoacán.

EFICINE 189 is a stimulus aimed at supporting the production or post-production of fiction, animation and documentary feature films, as well as the distribution and exhibition of Mexican cinema.

The total amount of the fiscal stimulus for the two periods of 2024 is up to Ps. 650 million for production projects and up to Ps. 50 million for distribution projects.

During 2024, 69 production projects and 43 distribution projects were authorized for the maximum amounts, while since 2019, a total of 551 projects have been supported.
