#SICT.- The Secretary of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation, Jesús Antonio Esteva Medina, announced that by the end of January 2025 the agency in charge will free two lanes for provisional passage on the Acatzingo-Ciudad Mendoza highway, at the height of Cumbres de Maltrata, after the landslide that occurred last October.
During his speech at the inauguration of the IMSS-Bienestar de Salud Mental “Dr. Victor M. Concha Vásquez” Hospital in Orizaba, Veracruz, Esteva Medina said that “we are working on the stabilization of the land so that by January 31 the two lanes of the highway will be free and by the end of April we will have a definitive solution for the 10.5 meter section”.
Before President Claudia Sheinbaum, the head of the SICT commented that they managed to free the seven vehicles that were in the area, which were buried; three of them were tractor-trailers: two of them with 60 thousand liters of diesel and one with 30 thousand liters of diesel.
“It was a delicate operation, Pemex supported us to remove all this fuel”, he pointed out.
He detailed that as of today, the SICT has intervened with 38 workers and 26 machines. The stabilization of the land is being carried out through anchorages, for which studies were made and at this moment the area is stable; besides, soundings were made, geophysical studies are concluded, as well as other studies that are required to give the definitive solution, he indicated.
