#BajaCalifornia.- In order to guarantee that the labor rights of the citizens of Baja California are complied with, Governor Marina del Pilar Avila Olmeda invited to keep informed about the payment of Christmas bonuses and other benefits corresponding to the end of the year, in case of any irregularity, they may file a complaint through the Secretary of Labor and Social Welfare of the State.

Alejandro Arregui Ibarra, head of the Secretariat, informed that the deadline for the payment of this right is December 20. In case of non-compliance in the time or amount established by law, the affected persons may present their disagreement by sending a message to the WhatsApp number (686) 391-8714, with attention throughout the state.

The Secretary explained that the amount of the Christmas bonus must correspond, at least, to 15 days of salary for those who have worked a full year. For those who have not completed the year, the proportional amount will be paid according to the days worked, in accordance with Article 87 of the Federal Labor Law (LFT).

The calculation of the Christmas bonus is made by dividing the net salary by 30 days, to determine the daily salary. This amount is multiplied by 15 days, as established by the Federal Law, to obtain the standard amount of the Christmas bonus. If the worker did not work the entire year, this amount is divided by 365 days to determine the daily Christmas bonus and multiplied by the days worked.

“Following the instruction of Governor Marina del Pilar Avila Olmeda, we keep working permanently, attentive to the commitment of advising workers and employers, for fair labor conditions in Baja California,” said Arregui Ibarra.
