#EstadoDeMéxico.- Governor Delfina Gómez Álvarez reaffirmed her commitment to improve the quality of life of vulnerable groups by signing, for the second consecutive time, the agreement of the Universal Pension for the Wellbeing of People with Disabilities, from 0 to 64 years old. “In the meeting we had with our President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, one of the topics that was touched upon was precisely to continue with the support to our people with disabilities”, Governor Delfina Gómez Álvarez indicated.
This program only benefited people from 0 to 29 years old, therefore, since the beginning of her administration, Governor Delfina Gómez Álvarez signed an agreement, with President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, to extend the age for the support and bring this sector of the population closer to the means that allow them to improve their quality of life. “The Government of the State of Mexico once again signed the agreement where we will give half of what is given to our colleagues with some disability, so that they do not suffer from that kind of situation because then they do not have the necessary resources to take care of themselves”, highlighted Governor Delfina Gómez Álvarez.
With this agreement, the number of beneficiaries increased by 70 percent, from 93,000 to 158,000 people, who now receive 3,100 pesos bimonthly.Under the philosophy of The Power to Serve, the Government of Governor Delfina Gómez Álvarez promotes other inclusive actions to provide development opportunities to this group of people.One of them is the free public transportation service, since last July, people with disabilities travel free on the Mexibús and Mexicable.
The Servir para el Bienestar Program provides functional support such as wheelchairs and walkers.through the System for the Integral Development of the Family of the State of Mexico (DIFEM), an agreement was signed with the National Rehabilitation Institute (INR) “Luis Guillermo Ibarra” to strengthen care in the 120 Rehabilitation Centers and Units that operate in the state, in order to offer specialized medical care in diagnosis and treatment to people with disabilities.
