SICT will offer discounts of 50% and 25% to students and teachers during the end-of-year vacations / @SICT_mx >>>

#SICT.- The Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT) informs that during the end of the year holiday period, discounts of 50% and 25% will be in effect for students and teachers, respectively, who use the railroad and federal transportation services.

According to the SICT Circular, published in the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF), the fare reductions are based on the official school calendar of the Ministry of Public Education (SEP), which will be in effect from December 19, 2024 to January 3, 2025.

It may be granted by railroad service providers in its regular interurban modality and federal passenger transportation service permit holders in the first and economic services.

Both teachers and students must present a valid credential to prove their status and be entitled to the discount. They shall be exclusively from the following educational institutions:

Integrated to the education systems of the Ministry of Public Education; Education Directorates or Departments in the federal entities; National Autonomous University of Mexico; National Polytechnic Institute; Universities throughout the Republic; Institutes; Free Schools of Law, Commerce and Homeopathy; Colegio de Bachilleres; and schools incorporated to the aforementioned.

It is worth mentioning that, additionally and throughout the year, high school and college students are entitled to 50% discounts on federal passenger transportation services.
