The Government of the State of Mexico conducts free tests to detect influenza, Covid-19 and prostate antigen / @Edomex >>>

#EstadoDeMéxico.- As part of the preventive medicine actions, the Governor of the State of Mexico, Delfina Gómez Álvarez, through the Secretary of Health, instructed the installation of 30 modules to detect respiratory infections, such as influenza, Covid-19 and Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV), as well as to identify and monitor prostate cancer in men, through the prostate antigen test.

This service is free of charge and is carried out through 30 modules installed by the Mexican Ministry of Health, directed by Dr. Macarena Montoya Olvera, as part of the Integral Service of Specific Screening by Risk Group in medical units of the entity.

The goal is to apply 140 thousand rapid tests in these modules: 35 thousand for each of the four diseases.

In the specific case of Viral Respiratory Disease, whoever requests the test must meet the definition of a suspected case.

The criteria applied is for people of any age who in the last five days have presented at least one of the following symptoms: cough, fever or headache and, in the case of minors, irritability may be a manifestation to be taken into account.

This should be accompanied by any of the following discomforts: shortness of breath; joint and/or muscle pain, chest and swallowing pain; chills; runny nose; rapid breathing; and loss of sense of smell.
