#SICT.- Rehabilitation work on the 230+400 section of the Acatzingo-Ciudad Mendoza highway, section B, has reached 96% progress in the removal of material, which will allow the operation of the provisional crossing in the area in the next few weeks.

The Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT) and Caminos y Puentes Federales (CAPUFE) reported this during a tour to verify the progress of the rehabilitation works.

They indicated that to date 147,455 thousand cubic meters of materials have been removed in the landslide zone.

The SICT and CAPUFE officials indicated that this week the definitive drainage works will begin, as well as the excavation and placement of concrete pipe of 1.20 mts. The concrete barrier for the protection of the provisional road is already in place.

They emphasized that next week work will begin on the preparation of the pavement structure and gabion wall.

It should be noted that this provisional road of almost 500 meters long with 2 lanes, with an average speed of 40 kilometers per hour, will be used to resume the traffic of vehicles and heavy freight that usually circulates on this federal highway.
