EdoMéx promotes water care with a 5 kilometer athletic race / @Edomex >>>

#EstadoDeMéxico.- With a 5-kilometer athletic race, the Secretary of Water in collaboration with the environmental organization “Comunidad Anfibia”, joined forces to encourage citizen participation and raise awareness of the Human Right to Water in the State of Mexico.

The Sixth Race for Water was held on Sunday, January 19, in the municipality of La Paz, with the participation of 450 people, who ran 5 kilometers from the Well of the Town of San Salvador Tecamachalco to the Well of San Sebastian.

Under the slogan “Body and water in movement, the Human Right that unites us”, this race was motivated by the community work in the defense and management of water in the communities of La Magdalena Atlicpac and San Sebastián Chimalpa.

This sporting event was attended by personnel from the “Brigada Colibrí” of La Sagua, representatives of the community wells and the Municipal Government of La Paz.

Six people were awarded prizes: in the women’s category, Alondra Martínez, from Amecameca, won first place; Juana Cristóbal, from Chicoloapan, second; Silvia López, from Iztapalapa, won third place.

In the men’s category: Gabriel Arroyo, from Ecatepec, won first place; Isaac Méndez, from Valle de Chalco, second place; and Eduardo González, from Texcoco, third place.
