#IMSS.- In order to speed up surgical times, provide greater quality and timeliness in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with various diseases, mainly cardiovascular and cerebral, from 2021 to date, the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) has launched 22 Hemodynamics Rooms during the administration of the Director General, Zoé Robledo, and reached 74 of these facilities.
The head of the Medical Care Unit and specialist in Interventional Cardiology, Dr. Efraín Arizmendi Uribe, highlighted that in 2019 the Social Security had 52 of these facilities: 48 in High Specialty Medical Units (UMAE) and four in Second Level hospitals.
He indicated that on the instruction of the head of Social Security, Hemodynamics Rooms were opened in Regional General Hospitals (HGR and HGZ) where between 30 and 47 specialties are offered, in order to strengthen their resolution capacity and that each Decentralized Administrative Operation Body (OOAD) of the IMSS in the states has at least one of these facilities.
He said that in April 2021, the first room of the administration of Master Zoé Robledo was put into operation in Quintana Roo and this effort has continued until reaching 22, with the opening in 2025 of one in Orizaba, of the OOAD Veracruz Sur, and another in the capital of Oaxaca.
He detailed that nine additional rooms are under construction and are expected to be put into operation during the first half of 2025 in the OOADs Baja California, Campeche, Mexico City South, Colima, Chihuahua, Guanajuato, Guerrero, Sinaloa and Veracruz North.
