#SE.- The Private Procurement in Emergency Situations Committee (PRAPSE) was installed at the Ministry of Economy, where the agreements were constant communication, follow-up, participation and the carrying out of drills.
The meeting was attended by leaders and representatives of business chambers, associations, as well as federal and CDMX agencies, where it was agreed to be an active and permanent committee, prioritizing prevention and drills.
The objective of PREPASE is to reestablish the private supply of basic products in the shortest possible time in areas affected by disasters caused by natural phenomena.
After a call that the participants themselves described as unprecedented, executives and representatives of business organizations and federal agencies thanked Secretary Marcelo Ebrard for the impulse that he is giving to this natural disaster prevention exercise.
Thus, Ricardo Arturo Villavicencio, president of CANILEC; Antonio Pascual Feria, president of ANAFARMEX; Miguel Ángel Farías Fernández, vice-president of the National Confederation of Supply Merchants’ Associations; Eduardo Maupomé Orozco, vice-president of Groceries of the Union of Fruit, Vegetables, Groceries and Commercial Premises of the Central de Abasto de la CDMX; among others, agreed that in view of the increasingly evident natural disasters that occur as a result of climate change, they welcome this initiative and are more than willing to collaborate to mitigate these consequences, so it is essential to have a plan that is more preventive than reactive.
