IMSS inaugurates Hemodynamics Room at the General Hospital of Zone No. 30 in Mexicali, Baja California / @Tu_IMSS >>>

#IMSS.- The Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) put into operation a modern Hemodynamics Room at the General Hospital of Zone No. 30, in Mexicali, Baja California, which will make it possible to obtain more timely diagnoses for cardiovascular diseases, thus increasing the possibility of saving lives.

During the inauguration, Dr. Desirée Sagarnaga Durante, IMSS Representative in Baja California, highlighted that the opening of this service in Mexicali will make it possible to address the backlog in catheterization and pacemaker placement, and avoid sending patients with cardiac pathologies to the Regional General Hospital (HGR) No. 1, in Tijuana.

Before medical authorities, regional officials and hospital personnel, he explained that the Hemodynamics Room and the acquisition of the latest generation angiograph replace the use of the C-arm, which was previously used for this type of procedures.

He explained that close to 32.3 million pesos were invested in the purchase of the angiography equipment and in the remodeling and adaptation of the physical space, which took place between September 2024 and January of this year; its start-up will benefit a population of approximately 800,000 beneficiaries.

Dr. Eusebio Rosales Partida, head of Medical Services of the Decentralized Administrative Operation Body (OOAD) in Baja California, indicated that with the new equipment and trained personnel, an average of 128 catheterizations and 16 pacemakers can be performed per month.

“We now have state-of-the-art medical equipment that is essential to perform both diagnostic and therapeutic catheterizations and thus reduce the comorbidity of patients with ischemic heart disease and significantly improve the survival rate of those facing an acute myocardial infarction, among other benefits,” he emphasized.
