#GobiernoDeMéxico.- During the inauguration of the Family Medicine Specialty Clinic of the Institute of Security and Social Services for State Workers (ISSSTE) in Pachuca, Hidalgo, the President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, announced an investment of 10 billion pesos (mdp) this year to bring the salaries of the workers of this institution up to the same level as those of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS).

“To guarantee that ISSSTE workers, health workers, can have salaries equivalent to those of Social Security, so that they are no longer left behind. Martí is going to discuss with you how we are going to develop this program. How many resources is ISSSTE going to have for this? Around 10 billion pesos this year, in order to be able to carry out this rebalancing of ISSSTE workers, particularly health workers,” he announced.

He explained that the resources for this salary adjustment program come from the resources of the trusts of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN), which were used for the benefit of the ministers, and which will now be used to guarantee the rights of ISSSTE workers.

“Because it is not true that those trusts were for the workers of the Judiciary, the thousands of workers that the Judiciary has, but that they only remained at the top,” he announced.

He emphasized that the ISSSTE Family Medicine Specialties Clinic is a first level unit in which the beneficiaries will be able to access first level medical care, as well as specialties.

He informed that, among the actions that will be promoted for the health sector, the conclusion of the construction of 26 hospitals and 12 Family Medicine Units attached to IMSS Bienestar, IMSS and ISSSTE will also be highlighted this year, in addition to the fact that the latter will be incorporated for the first time to the program La Clínica es Nuestra, whose assemblies begin next February 15, with the purpose of recovering this health unit, after it tried to be privatized during the neoliberal period.
