Identification system to be applied in Federal Transportation to inhibit theft: SICT / @SICT_mx >>>

#SICT.- The Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT) and the trucking industry agreed to implement an identification system for vehicles traveling on highways and bridges under federal jurisdiction.

Highway safety is a high priority for the SICT. Hence the need to implement actions with the participation of authorities, the trucking industry and the general public, in order to protect users on roads and bridges under federal jurisdiction.

This Agreement is aimed at permit holders, chambers, associations, federations and confederations of federal freight, passenger and tourism trucking and auxiliary services.

The permit holders will carry out the identification (“beaconing”) of the federal trucking vehicles.

This must be done within 90 calendar days from February 8, 2025, the day after its publication in the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF).

It will be carried out in accordance with the provisions of the technical annex available at the following link:

The implementation of this strategy is aimed at guaranteeing that federal motor transport permit holders circulate safely and continuously on the highways, as well as to inhibit theft and reduce unit recovery times.
