#Monterrey, #N.L.- The Government of Monterrey, the World Resources Institute (WRI Mexico) and the association Sustainability for Mexico (SUMe), signed today a letter of collaboration to create a process that allows the decarbonization of municipal buildings.

Fernando Margain Sada, Chief of Staff; Francisco Barnés Regueiro, Executive Director of the World Resources Institute Mexico (WRI Mexico) and Ricardo Bussey García, President of the Sustainability Council for Mexico (SUMe), signed the document at a meeting in the Cabildo Hall.

The Chief of Staff recalled that the natural environment is one of the priorities of the Administration headed by Adrián de la Garza Santos.

“It is one of his priority issues, the environment, and that is why this important act is not only the signing of the agreement, but also to reinforce and reaffirm the commitment of the entire Administration with the environment”, he commented.

It is about creating a project to include this city in the international plan called “Todos a Favor de un Entorno Construido Neto Cero” (Everyone for a Net Zero Built Environment) implemented by WRI Mexico and SUMe.

The parties are also committed to provide workshops, interviews and gather information to structure and follow up on the action plan, which will have a real impact on sustainability in Monterrey.

The signing ceremony was attended by municipal officials and representatives of local environmental groups.
