Second phase of Operation Cleanup strategy begins / @SE_mx >>>

#SE.- The Ministry of Economy initiated the second phase of the Operation Cleanup strategy, which consists of identifying and combating tax evasion mechanisms, as well as importers and suppliers of prohibited and illegal merchandise being traded within Mexican territory.

In coordination with state governments, the National Guard and state public security secretariats, simultaneous operations were carried out to suspend the activities and subsequent cancellation of companies affiliated with the IMMEX program, which, pretending to be manufacturing companies, were in fact only simulating operations as front companies, making illegal use of this program.

These are three companies, two located in Tijuana, Baja California, and one more in Aguascalientes, Aguascalientes, which together allegedly carried out simulated temporary imports in the order of 15 billion pesos, causing a significant loss to the Treasury and a major damage to the national industry.

These acts not only represent commercial practices of unfair competition, but also, by misusing a Promotion Program for export purposes, they evade the payment of the General Import Tax, VAT and ISR, as well as the payment of Social Security dues.

In addition, these companies allegedly carried out simulated temporary export operations of millions of garments and textile products, mainly of Asian origin.
