#SECTUR.- The Secretary of Tourism of the Government of Mexico, Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, held a meeting with the Governor of Veracruz, Rocío Nahle García, and with local tourism service providers, where she assured that the state is consolidating its position as “a tourist stronghold that is in fashion”.

Also accompanied by the state secretaries of Tourism and Economy, Dulce María de la Reguera Gómez and Xóchitl Molina González, respectively, the head of the Ministry of Tourism said that in January 2025, Veracruz received 106.8 percent more international tourists, compared to January 2019 and in 2024 registered 905,080 passengers by air, with a growth of 12.2 percent compared to 2019, reflecting a successful post-pandemic recovery.

The above, he said, shows that Veracruz is consolidating as a strategic tourist destination, with sustained growth and key opportunities for the development of this noble activity.

He invited those present to continue working together to strengthen tourism in the state, “the only sector that multiplies prosperity for communities.

In this sense, he informed that Veracruz was chosen to establish one of the 13 community tourism polygons during this administration, as part of the promotion of tourism. “With which all federal, state and municipal forces will be concentrated to improve infrastructure and connectivity, and, above all, the quality of life of its inhabitants,” he said.
