Foreign Ministry promotes Mexico as a competitive and reliable audiovisual production center / @SRE_mx >>>
#SRE.- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE), through the Head of the Intersectoral Coordination Unit and the Consulate General of Mexico in Los Angeles, with the support of the National Chamber of the Film Industry, is strengthening its collaboration with the California film industry by organizing the first familiarization trip (FAM Trip) for a delegation of film and audiovisual content producers from Hollywood to promote Mexico as an inspiring destination for audiovisual productions.
The program includes visits to Mexico City on April 8 and 9 and to Guadalajara, Jalisco, on April 10, to showcase the country’s competitive advantages in film and audiovisual production.
The main points of promotion are the geographic diversity of locations, first-class technical and operational infrastructure, and access to specialized talent.
The delegation will also participate in an inter-institutional working meeting with representatives of numerous government agencies: the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit, the Ministry of Security and Citizen Protection, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Tourism and the Mexican Film Institute.
At this meeting, each institution will present its attributions to promote strategic actions that favor greater production of audiovisual content in Mexico.
The relationship between Mexico and Hollywood dates back to the beginning of the film industry with figures such as actress Dolores del Río, film director Emilio “El Indio” Fernández and cinematographer Gabriel Figueroa. This trend continues with the presence of numerous Mexican talent in film direction, acting, production and photography, which has earned awards from both the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in Los Angeles and the general public.
