Students and teachers will receive discounts on buses and trains during Holy Week / @SICT_mx >>>

#SICT.- The Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications, and Transportation (SICT) reports that for the Easter holiday period, teachers and students will enjoy a 25 and 50 percent discount, respectively, if they travel by rail or federal bus.

The agency headed by Jesús Antonio Esteva Medina explains that the discount is effective based on the schedule set by the Ministry of Public Education (SEP) for the Easter holiday period, which will run from April 14 to 25, 2025.

During this period, rail service providers, in their regular intercity service modality, and federal bus passenger transportation permit holders, in their first-class and economy class services, must offer teachers and students the aforementioned discounts.

Both teachers and students must prove their status to the federal rail and passenger transportation service providers by showing their current ID.

Or, through a certificate issued by the school they attend, which must contain at least the name and seal of the school, the name and photograph of the school owner, and, where applicable, the account or registration number.

The benefit applies exclusively to schools integrated into the education systems of the SEP (Spanish Ministry of Public Education), directorates, or departments of education in the states.

It also applies to students and faculty of the National Autonomous University of Mexico, the National Polytechnic Institute, universities and institutes throughout the Republic, Free Schools of Law, Commerce, and Homeopathy, the College of Bachelors, and the schools incorporated into the aforementioned.
