#SICT.- The Mexico-Toluca Intercity Train «El Insurgente» will feature a cable-stayed bridge, considered unique in the world for its curved design and use of rails; it is being built a few meters from what will be the Vasco de Quiroga station.
The Government of Mexico, through the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications, and Transportation (SICT), and the Mexico City Government, are working together to complete the construction of the sturdy structure, approximately half a kilometer long.
It consists of a 200-meter central span and two main towers supported by four «harps» of 13 stay cables each (eight in total) and an anti-seismic system, which will support the passage of the train.
The progress of the final sections of the construction was verified by President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, who was accompanied by the head of the SICT, Jesús Antonio Esteva Medina. Undersecretary of Infrastructure, Juan Carlos Fuentes Orrala, and the head of the Railway Transport Regulatory Agency (ARTF), Andrés Lajous Loaeza.
