#SECTUR.- Mexico’s Secretary of Tourism, Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, and Guerrero Governor Evelyn Salgado Pineda participated in the presentation of the Guinness World Record to the Divers of La Quebrada for the highest head dive in the world.

«Today we celebrate much more than a record; we celebrate the strength of a tradition that endures, the courage of an inspiring profession, and the pride of a beloved destination that never gives up. This achievement is one more reason to visit Acapulco,» she stated.

The head of the Ministry of Tourism (Sectur) stated that, with this international recognition, Acapulco reaffirms its place as a unique destination for its history, culture, and resilience.

From this symbolic site of Acapulco, Guerrero, and Mexico, he noted that the divers of La Quebrada have transformed vertigo into art, with jumps from 35 meters high and dives at speeds of 90 kilometers per hour. «They have woven a collective legend that is immortalized today before the world,» he commented.

He added that, with this, La Quebrada becomes the first stop on a national tourist route of world records that will boost tourism in Mexico, as it is a powerful attraction for domestic and international tourists seeking unique and exciting experiences.

He acknowledged the port’s resilience and praised the expectations for Acapulco during this Easter holiday period, which are a clear sign of its recovery.
