#SICT.- With the start of the Easter holiday period, the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications, and Transportation (SICT), headed by Jesús Antonio Esteva Medina, is urging drivers to prioritize safety when traveling on federal highways through a series of preventive recommendations and actions that seek to reduce risks and protect the lives of those traveling across the country.

Through the «Be Ready! And Have Everything Ready» campaign, the agency promotes a culture of prevention, invites citizens to prepare their trips responsibly, and urges them to follow basic measures that can make a difference on the road.

Among the main recommendations, the SICT urges drivers to:

Check the vehicle’s mechanical condition before leaving (condition of tires, brakes, hood, oil and water levels, and functioning lights).
Always wear your seatbelt.
Avoid using cell phones or other electronic devices while driving.
Do not consume alcoholic beverages or toxic substances.
Respect speed limits and road signs.
Do not drive while tired or fatigued.
Remember to have the emergency phone numbers handy so that, in the event of an incident, you can receive prompt and necessary assistance.
