#SRE.- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) deeply regrets the passing of Pope Francis, Jorge Mario Bergoglio, the first Latin American Pope and head of state of Vatican City.

It also sends its deepest condolences to his family and to those who considered him their spiritual leader.

As stated by the President of Mexico, Dr. Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, Pope Francis will be remembered as a great humanist, who stood up for the poorest and promoted fraternity among people and nations. May he rest in peace.
