#Naucalpan, #Edoméx.- The Municipal Government is joining forces with the Federal Government, led by President Claudia Sheinbaum and Governor Delfina Gómez Álvarez, to reduce crime rates in the municipality, said Mayor Isaac Montoya Márquez, after leading the Coordination Roundtable for the Construction of Peace in San Lorenzo Totolinga as part of the Peace Days. He highlighted progress in reducing high-impact crimes.
In front of residents, Montoya Márquez noted that, compared to the previous administration, crimes such as vehicle theft have decreased by 12%, according to figures from the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System and the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Mexico.
On the esplanade of the San Lorenzo Totolinga Church, where the Peace Day was also held, the mayor emphasized that, according to the recent National Urban Public Security Survey (ENSU) presented by INEGI (National Institute of Statistics and Geography), in just three months, the city’s perception of insecurity has improved from 2nd to 12th. However, he acknowledged that more work remains to be done, but that it will be strengthened with the acquisition of 250 new patrol cars.

In this regard, he said that these will be added to the 130 already in operation and that greater security coverage will be provided throughout the municipality. He added that in addition to the 65 surveillance cameras left in poor condition by the previous administration, another 600 will be added and strategically placed throughout the municipality. They will feature cutting-edge technology and will allow for the identification of vehicles, license plates, and faces.
He emphasized that, as part of the transformation of security in the municipality, in addition to the change from the police force to the Municipal Guard, a new operations center will be created, which will house the police station and the C4, all in one location. This will create a Comprehensive Security, Emergency, and Justice Center to provide more immediate and effective responses to citizen emergencies.
