#SICT.- During this long weekend, which begins on May 1 and ends on May 5, the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications, and Transportation (SICT) is urging users of the Federal Highway Network to prioritize safety during their travels, taking into account some recommendations that seek to protect their lives.
The agency, headed by Jesús Antonio Esteva Medina, recommends following basic measures to avoid any road accidents:
Check the vehicle’s mechanical condition before leaving (condition of tires, brakes, hood, oil and water levels, functioning of lights).
Always wear your seatbelt.
Avoid using cell phones or other electronic devices while driving.
Do not consume alcoholic beverages or toxic substances.
Obey speed limits and road signs.
Do not drive while tired or fatigued.
Likewise, it is important to have emergency phone numbers on hand so that, in the event of an incident, you can receive the prompt and necessary assistance.
