#GobiernoDeMéxico.- The new drainage system in the municipality of Chalco will prevent flooding by improving the drainage of wastewater and stormwater, especially during the rainy season. To supervise this project, President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo and Governor Delfina Gómez Álvarez toured the construction of the Solidaridad Collector and the pumping station.

“We welcomed President @claudiashein to #Chalco, where we oversaw the progress of the Solidaridad Collector, which is essential to prevent flooding in this area during the upcoming rainy season.

The old service collapsed due to lack of maintenance by previous administrations, which allowed it to deteriorate and become saturated, causing constant flooding, such as that recorded last year.

Restoring this drainage system has been a priority for federal, state, and municipal authorities, who are preparing the final work on this new infrastructure, which will prevent flooding by improving water drainage through a pumping sump.

During this tour, Governor Delfina Gómez Álvarez called on citizens to take care of this new drainage system by avoiding throwing trash in the streets, sewers, and drains, as solid waste is the leading cause of blockages, increasing the risk of flooding.
