#GobiernoDeMéxico.- In La Paz, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo announced 12 priority actions for the state of Baja California Sur in the areas of drinking water, road infrastructure, housing, education, and healthcare, with the goal of supporting the people of Baja California Sur, whom she praised for their great solidarity.

“We love Baja California Sur for many reasons, but perhaps the most important, besides the beauty of this wonderful landscape, is its supportive people. Many people from different states of the country have come to live here, and here we embrace each other, becoming one community. You are a very supportive people and you deserve everything. Therefore, whatever we can do for Baja California Sur, we will do it,” she emphasized.

Among the priority projects announced are:

● In Loreto: a Wastewater Treatment Plant, which will be completed next year and will require an investment of more than 75 million pesos (MXN) benefiting more than 18,000 residents.

● In Los Cabos: La Sonoreña I Wastewater Treatment Plant and a desalination plant, in which 300 million pesos will be invested this year and 487 million pesos throughout the six-year term. Expansion of this plant and the distribution networks is planned.

● In La Paz: El Novillo Dam, which will have an investment of 800 million pesos; the sectorization of the drinking water system for more equitable water distribution; and the implementation of a water treatment plant. In addition, water conservation and preservation works will be carried out.

● A total of 95 drinking water projects will be carried out in the state’s five municipalities, with an investment of 1.4 billion pesos this year and nearly 2.8 billion pesos throughout the six-year term.

● Overpass at the FONATUR roundabout in Los Cabos, which is a 1.5 km project, with an investment of 450 million pesos throughout the six-year term and 200 million pesos this year, will be completed in June of next year.

● Resurfacing of the Benito Juárez Transpeninsular Highway, for which a repaving train will be brought in for the works.

● Rehabilitation of several vehicular bridges: San Luciano Bridge, where channel rectification, cleaning, and protection of reinforced concrete piers are being carried out; the VIMED Bridge, which will be widened from 244 meters to 280 meters in length; and a new 84-meter bridge with three spans. Additionally, signs in poor condition will be repaired.
