#Querétaro, #Qro.- In the presence of Iridia Salazar Blanco, Director General of the Querétaro State Institute of Sports and Recreation (INDEREQ), the Querétaro U-18 3×3 basketball team won a gold medal at the National Olympiad. On their way to first place, they faced Tlaxcala in the group stage, defeated Zacatecas in the quarterfinals, defeated Nayarit in the semifinals, and defeated Guanajuato in the final.

Athletes Pedro Gómez, Daniel Pacheco, Alan Soto, and Miguel Martínez, in addition to positioning Querétaro as the number one team in their category nationwide, also earned a second place overall as a delegation, shared with Guanajuato.

After winning a bronze medal at the 2024 National Games of the National Commission for Physical Culture and Sports (CONADE), the team maintained constant training in national tournaments and in training camps as members of the U-18 national pre-selection team (some of which took place at the Mexican Olympic Committee facilities) and, in the case of Miguel Martínez, also as a U-21 prospect.

Their performance at the National Olympics was part of their work to reach their highest level, as each of the players aspires to represent Mexico in international competitions. It should be noted that the state also had participation in the U-16 category in both categories, paving the way for future basketball players interested in high performance.
