#SICT.- The Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications, and Transportation (SICT) reports that the construction of the Tepic-Compostela Highway, which will benefit more than 800,000 commuters in Nayarit and Jalisco, is 87 percent complete.
This continuation project, carried out by the SICT and led by Secretary Jesús Esteva Medina, will reduce travel times between the city of Tepic, Nayarit, and Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, from 3.5 hours to one hour and 25 minutes.
It will connect the beaches of Compostela and Bahía de Banderas with downtown Nayarit. It will also connect the airports of Tepic and Puerto Vallarta in just one hour and 15 minutes, potentially increasing the number of flights by providing a fast track to the beaches of the Riviera Nayarit.
More than 490,000 residents of Tepic, Compostela, Xalisco, Bahía de Banderas, and Puerto Vallarta will benefit from this important communication route.
As part of this project, the project will include 26 kilometers of road length, a 2.4-kilometer airport branch, a toll plaza, 10 bridges, two railroad crossings, 19 intersections, and one interchange (only gates); 2,900 jobs have been created so far.
