#SICT.- The Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications, and Transportation (SICT), through the General Directorate of Highway Maintenance, conducted a review of priority projects underway in Durango.

The agency reviewed the current status of the 2,99 km of the state’s toll-free federal highway network, as well as the progress of road surface maintenance projects and programs, including bridges, drainage works, and signage.

The working tour of the Director General of Highway Maintenance, David Calderón Hallal, and the Director General of the SICT Durango Center, Ángel Sergio Dévora Núñez, included an on-site visit to the reconstruction of the «Molino de Cilindros» bridge, located on the Durango–Parral Highway.

A tour was then conducted along the Durango-Gómez Palacio Highway, from Km 10+500 to Km 245+000, inspecting the sections undergoing routine maintenance, including surface patching, isolated deep patching, and local re-leveling of the road surface, as well as weeding and clearing drainage works on the right-of-way.

On the second day of supervision, SICT officers toured the sections from Km 211+000 to Km 218+000 of the Durango-Gómez Palacio Highway, from Km 20+000 to Km 26+500, and from Km 26+000 to Km 30+800 of the Gómez Palacio Highway, the Durango-Chihuahua State border.

At these points, the process of extracting cores from the asphalt layer placed during the Periodic Conservation Program works was verified, which consisted of laying 5 cm thick of layer, in order to carry out laboratory tests, to confirm the quality of the applied materials.
