Ambassador Aníbal Gómez makes a working visit to the Sultanate of Oman to mark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations / @SRE_mx

#SRE.- The Mexican Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, concurrent to the Sultanate of Oman, Aníbal Gómez Toledo, paid a working visit to Muscat, Oman, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mexico and that Middle Eastern country.

In a commemorative ceremony held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, attended by Undersecretary for Political Affairs Khalifa bin Ali bin Issa Al Harthy and officials from the Omani Foreign Ministry, Ambassador Gómez Toledo conveyed to the Undersecretary a message of friendship from the Mexican government with a view to deepening the relationship between the two friendly countries.

In his message, Gómez Toledo reiterated the Mexican government’s gratitude for the valuable efforts made by the Omani government for the release of the Mexican sailors who were held hostage in Yemen for 14 months and recognized the distinguished role played by Omani diplomacy as a mediator and promoter of peace and stability in the region.

He also noted that this anniversary represents an excellent opportunity to define new goals in the bilateral relationship to strengthen political dialogue and coordination in international forums, as well as development cooperation in economic, trade, tourism, academic, and cultural matters.

For his part, Undersecretary Al Harthy expressed Oman’s aspiration to deepen its relationship with Mexico at all levels and emphasized the shared values ​​between the two nations and their mutual commitment to building a partnership based on respect and understanding.

During the ceremony, the commemorative logo for the 50th anniversary of the bilateral relationship was also unveiled, and the interest in continuing to collaborate for the benefit and prosperity of both peoples was reiterated.
