Legend has it that a girl died drowned in the canals of Cuemanco, and since then her spirit has never found peace. Don Julian, the caretaker of the island, placed dolls all over the place to calm her… But today, those same dolls seem to watch over intruders.

There is a belief that, as night falls, the dolls come to life: they whisper, whistle, move their limbs and turn their heads of their own volition, hoping to lure the unwary to a watery death in the island’s canals.
