#GobiernoDeMéxico, #México.– As part of Plan Mexico, the Government of Mexico, through the Ministries of Economy and Health, announced an investment of 10,480 million pesos (mdp) by the Mexican companies Kener, which will allocate 5,180 mdp; Genbio, 4,000 mdp; Alpharma BioGenTec, 800 mdp; and Neolsym, 500 mdp, with the aim of strengthening the pharmaceutical industry in the country.
President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo highlighted that the goal is to achieve sovereignty in pharmaceutical matters so that Mexico can face situations of vulnerability such as the Covid-19 pandemic, in addition to strengthening the national economy by boosting this sector.
«For us it is essential that more is produced in Mexico, particularly in the pharmaceutical industry, for a matter of sovereignty. So what do we want? Well, in a situation of vulnerability in the face of a pandemic, in the face of another situation, we do not want to be dependent on a single manufacturer in the world that has competition from all over the world to be able to send its exports. We want national production to be strengthened in the face of risk situations, but also to strengthen our economy“, she stressed in the press conference ”Las mañaneras del pueblo».
