#ISSSTE#México.– The Director General of the Instituto de Seguridad y Servicios Sociales de los Trabajadores del Estado (ISSSTE), Martí Batres Guadarrama, gave the starting signal to the 695 new ambulances that will provide service in medical units throughout the country, thus completely renewing the vehicle fleet and increasing by 45 percent the number of units at the service of the beneficiaries.

“Today we are taking another step forward in the transformation of ISSSTE, renewing a very important part of its equipment: today we are renewing all of ISSSTE’s ambulances, today we are changing all of ISSSTE’s ambulances, we are going from 486 ambulances, which are leaving due to wear and tear, due to continuous use over a long period of time, to 695 new ambulances,” he said.

At the ISSSTE complex, located in San Fernando, Martí Batres explained that of the total number of units, 598 are for the transfer of programmed patients and 97 for advanced emergencies, which are equipped to provide care to patients requiring emergency procedures.

“These advanced emergency ambulances are very modern ambulances: inside they have equipment to provide intensive therapy, to attend to patients who need to be intubated, to attend to cardiovascular emergencies, to attend to cerebrovascular emergencies, while the patient is being transferred, which indicates that we have the best ambulances,” he said.
