Tlalnepantla, State of Mexico, puts a stop to the excessive growth of subdivisions: they will review the legality of constructions / @RacielPerezC_ @Gob_Tlalne >>>
#TlalnepantlaDeBaz, #StateOfMexico.- Real estate developers located in Tlalnepantla de Baz must comply with the relevant legal obligations and provisions. Those authorized during the previous administration will be reviewed to ensure compliance, if any irregularities are detected, as announced by Mayor Raciel Pérez Cruz.
Upon handing over 5 de Febrero Street in the community of San Lucas Tepetlacalco, the Mayor recalled that during his first term as mayor, from 2019 to 2021, a dialogue was established with the public to develop a new Municipal Urban Development Plan, and «the diagnosis was very clear: the city’s subdivisions had reached their growth limit. Allowing more construction would jeopardize the viability of public services.»
He noted that, at that time, it was decided not to authorize land use changes in subdivisions, a measure that will continue during the current administration to avoid compromising services such as water and lighting, and to contribute to the issue of mobility in the communities.
Pérez Cruz stated that, during the previous administration, multiple authorizations were granted to real estate developers, and «we will review them. When a housing development is approved, the real estate company generates obligations to the public. In the coming weeks, we will hold working groups to review their current situation and bring them under control.»
The Mayor continued: “For our part, we are committed to NOT authorizing a single new development. This meeting will help us see which developments were authorized by the previous municipal government, because if there were many cases, we cannot violate what was already approved, but we will make adjustments and review the funds with the real estate companies.”
The Mayor mentioned that contributions from real estate companies often end up in other hands, “because it’s cheaper to bribe than to comply with community improvements. This is what we will review. If any company gave kickbacks to a public servant, we will hold those involved accountable.”
