FederalGovernment, #Mexico.- The Mexican government, through the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Health, announced, as part of Plan Mexico, an investment of 12.25 billion pesos (million pesos) from four pharmaceutical industry companies: Boehringer Ingelheim, 3.5 billion pesos; Carnot Laboratories, 3.5 billion pesos; Bayer, 3 billion pesos; and AstraZeneca, 2.25 billion pesos. These investments will generate 3,120 highly specialized direct jobs and 22,500 indirect jobs.

In addition, it was announced that the first Economic Development Pole for Well-being (PODECOBI), «Parque Industrial Bajío,» will be established in Zinapécuaro, Michoacán, covering 346 hectares. It already has its first investors: Citelis and Artifibras. This represents a public-private investment, in its first stage, of more than 1 billion pesos.

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo emphasized that the investment announcement demonstrates that Plan Mexico is moving forward and is launching a drive for development with well-being throughout the country.

«This very important investment of 12 billion pesos from the pharmaceutical industry for production and research development in our country, linked to the pharmaceutical industry, is part of Plan Mexico, as we proposed. At the same time, I am very pleased to announce the first Development Hub for Well-being in Michoacán, which already has committed investors and is already beginning this phase of promoting Development with Well-being in our country,» she emphasized during the morning press conference: «Las mañaneras del pueblo» (The People’s Morning Press Conference).
