#SecretaryOf Economy#México.- Today, the Secretary of Economy, Marcelo Ebrard, and the Governor of Quintana Roo, Mara Lezama, led the signing of the agreement formally beginning construction of the Chetumal I Wellbeing Development Hub.

Wellbeing Hubs are industrial parks that will be developed taking into account the strengths and vocations of the country’s different regions, and in which investors will receive tax and other incentives. They are a fundamental part of Plan Mexico, conceived by President Claudia Sheinbaum, to trigger economic and social development in the country.

In the initial phase, 15 Wellbeing Hubs have been planned in 14 states across the country. Last week, the agreement was signed formally beginning construction on the Bajío Industrial Park, located in the municipality of Zinapécuaro, Michoacán. Chetumal I is the second Wellbeing Hub to be officially launched.

Located in the Othón P. Blanco municipality, 3.5 kilometers from Chetumal International Airport and the Maya Train station, and 2 kilometers from the seaport, the Chetumal I Development Center boasts a consolidated administrative structure and a privileged geographic location. Once operational, it will contribute to the regional development of Quintana Roo.

Tax incentives for the Center include those established in the Decree creating the Development Centers for Well-being: a 100% deduction on fixed assets, as well as an additional 25% on training and dual education expenses, and another 25% on innovation and technological development. State and municipal taxes have yet to be determined.
